Wireless 2.0
On Friday 3rd July Ashton Consulting was invited along to the Silicon South West Wireless 2.0 awards dinner and conference.
Over 150 wireless industry executives gathered in Bristol for the third Wireless 2.0 conference which addressed the latest innovation trends in the sector.
The conference, organised by Silicon South West, brought together speakers and delegates from global companies such as Apple, Disney, Microsoft, Qualcomm, Toshiba and Vodafone, with researchers from the Univeristies of Bath, Bristol and Edinburgh, and senior executives from Icera, PicoChip and IPWireless, three leading companies in the South West of England.
The conference also honoured the Rising Stars of the region's univeristies, awarding prizes to the most talented electronic engineers from the Universities of Bath, Bournemouth, Bristol, Exeter, Plymouth and the West of England at an awards dinner.
As official sponsors for the second year running Tom Selman and Donna Black of Ashton Consulting were invited along to meet the exceptional graduates from the South West's top universities. Hardware specialist Tom Selman was asked to present an award to David McGorgan of UWE for his outstanding project which gained global recognition.
The event was a great success and provided all delegates with a fantastic insight into what we can expect from the micro-electronics sector over the coming years. Congratulations go out to all 6 Rising Stars and a huge thank you to the speakers for their time and efforts!
